Kabul: Professor Ismail Mashal who tore up his diploma on tv in an act of open defiance to Taliban’s ban on university training for women in Afghanistan has known as on men to stand up for women.

UN hits again Taliban on Education Day

United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres on the event of Education Day on Tuesday mentioned, “Now is the time to end all discriminatory laws and practices that hinder access to education.”

“I call on the Taliban to reverse the outrageous and self-defeating ban on access to secondary and higher education for girls & women in Afghanistan,” he added.
