STFs of Kolkata, Bihar unearth illegal arms manufacturing unit in Gaya; 2 detained, owner absconding

The Special Task Force of Kolkata Police, in a joint operation with its counterparts in Bihar, on October 5, unearthed an illegal improvised lively firearms (Pistol) manufacturing unit working in Gaya.

According to the Police, the illegal improvised firearms manufacturing unit was working in the guise of a furnishings store by the title of ‘Baba Furniture’ owned by Mukesh Kumar, located at Ranibigha village in the Tekari police station space of Gaya district.

During the joint search operation, a big quantity of objects which go into the making of improvised firearms (pistol), big numbers of iron bars, a chopping system, a milling system, a lathe machine, a grinding system, and different instruments and equipment used for manufacturing these improvised firearms have been recovered and seized from the unit.

Further, in response to the Police, two Munger-based expert employees have been detained from the spot whereas the owner of the home and the illegal firearms manufacturing unit, which operated from the property, Mukesh Kumar, is absconding.

The detained individuals have been recognized as Md Anwar Khan and Biru Kumar. “The detained persons were arrested and a case was registered under the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act,” an officer mentioned.

Further investigation is underway, Police mentioned.
