‘Donate for Desh’: Know About Cong’s Crowdfunding Drive & Its Link To Mahatma Gandhi

Urging folks to hitch the struggle in opposition to unemployment and rising prices, Congress on Monday launched a crowdfunding marketing campaign to lift funds forward of the overall election due in 2024. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who launched the “Donate for Desh” marketing campaign in Delhi, took a veiled dig on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and stated that whenever you rely on wealthy folks, it’s important to observe their insurance policies.

The marketing campaign is being launched as Congress completes 138 years, and social gathering chief Kharge grew to become its first donor, by contributing a sum of Rs 1,38,000 from his wage, within the presence of social gathering leaders and normal secretaries Ok C Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh and treasurer Ajay Maken.

Kharge stated the Congress is already working for the pursuits of the poor, Scheduled Castes, backwards they usually have been serving to us previously too.

“Through ‘Donate for Desh’, we will work to take the country forward by taking help from the general public. Congress always got help from the general public. Mahatma Gandhi also got Independence for the country with the help of the people of the country,” he stated.

People will in a single or two days voluntarily come ahead and donate, he stated.

“We will collect donations from common people and join them in this fight. We can assure people that there is only one party which is fighting for the poor,” he stated.

According to Congress chief KC Venugopal, the crowdfunding initiative was impressed by Mahatma Gandhi’s historic ‘Tilak Swaraj Fund’, launched in 1920-21.
