The CPI(M)’s pupil wing, SFI, on Monday intensified its ongoing battle with the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan by placing up banners in opposition to him in faculties throughout the state.
According to visuals on TV channels, one such banner exterior the Government Sanskrit College in the state capital stated Khan as Chancellor needs to be working for the colleges and never the Sangh Parivar.
The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) had on Sunday evening introduced it might be placing up a whole bunch of posters and banners in opposition to Khan in the Calicut University in Malappuram district in addition to faculties throughout the state.

Enraged by SFI banners exterior the Calicut University visitor home terming him a “sanghi” and demanding he “go back”, Khan alleged that these had been put up by the state police on the instructions of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The allegation was made in a press launch issued by the Raj Bhavan.
Khan had additionally questioned the police deployed on the college whether or not such banners would have been allowed if the CM had been staying there.
“How come this (banner) is here? I am asking you (police) if CM was staying here, would you allow this? You want to insult me? Enough is enough. You are trying to make a mockery of law and order,” an incensed Khan shouted at police.
”If not now, in 3-Four months you’ll have to reply. This CM shouldn’t be going to stay endlessly. Don’t suppose you’ll go unaccountable. Don’t be beneath that impression. You is not going to go unaccountable,” the Governor had stated.
Later, SFI activists led by its state secretary P M Arsho arrived there and put up extra banners with one among them saying — “down down chancellor.” They shouted slogans in opposition to the Governor, allegedly referred to as him a “scoundrel”, and in addition burned his effigy.
