Balodabazar: A 19-year-old man from Chhattisgarh has been arrested for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl and extorting Rs eight lakh from her in the final two years with the assist of his relations, together with mom, who had filmed the act in 2017, police mentioned on Wednesday.
While the accused and his mom have been arrested on September 15 and his minor sister detained, police are actually searching for the brother-in-law of the accused.
“The main accused had befriended the woman and invited her to his home in Chapa village in Balodabazar district in 2017,” mentioned Simga police station officer CR Chandra quoting the FIR registered on September 12.
As per the complainant, the mom of the accused spiked her chilly drink with some sedative following which she handed out.
“The woman claimed that she was raped by the accused when she was unconscious while his mother filmed the act,” mentioned the SHO.
He mentioned the accused, his mom, minor sister and brother-in-law extorted cash to the tune of Rs eight lakh from the sufferer by blackmailing her together with her video, he mentioned, including that the sufferer was repeatedly sexually assaulted throughout the interval.
A case has been registered underneath sections 376 (Punishment for rape), 384 (extortion), 506 (legal intimidation), 120b (legal conspiracy) and 34 (frequent intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and part 67 of Information Technology Act, Chandra mentioned.
The minor has been detained and despatched to juvenile house whereas efforts are on to hint the brother-in-law of the accused. Further investigation is underway.
